The elevator pitch:
She's sad! She's mad! She's smad!
Maggie Rhee's lost her parents, siblings, husband, and innumerable friends and acquaintances over the years. What she has left is a little boy and enough stubbornness for a dozen women - and it turns out, in the zombie apocalypse, that's enough to survive on.
Canonpoint:
I'm interested in anything from Alexandria onwards, and I'm especially into s7-s11 (and probably on into the spinoff once we get that). I'm not interested in playing from earlier points; my ideal, basically, is anything far enough along that she'd be in favor of public hangings.
That said, if your character didn't live long enough to see how she's living in the wake of the Savior War, I'm also into AUs where they did. For meme threads, we can go "everyone's alive and everything's okay, it's fine." In longer PSLs, I like the idea of seeing just how rough things get for everyone and how canon events might change if different people were present for them. "Glenn's alive and Maggie still thinks they should kill Negan" or whatever sounds great to me.
Crossovers and AUs:
Love crossovers and AUs! I'm happy to help AU your character into TWD, if you need help on that, and I'm also interested in AUing Maggie into other canons as needed.
The canons that are easiest to AU Maggie into are:
✘ Postapocalyptic canons, with or without zombies
✘ Horror canons that cut characters off from the wider world, like Dead by Daylight
✘ Canons with similar technology levels, like Read Dead Redemption II
✘ Canons with significant income inequality situations, where it'd be possible for an underclass to struggle to get by, like The Expanse
I'm not really interested in AU settings that aren't one of the characters' canons or modern AUs.
Ships:
Generally speaking, unless your name is Glenn Rhee, any ship is going to essentially be a thruple with her dead husband, and she might always like him best. Things are probably always going to be sad-tinged, and "must be willing to put her kid above everything else" is a highkey requirement.
BUT let's be real, I love shipping, and I especially love it with Maggie - the fact that it's an emotional slowburn with a lot of negotiation is a big appeal to me. I know the vibe isn't for everyone, but if you're interested, we can see how it goes. Maggie leans heterosexual, but I'm into trying f/f if there's good rapport.
yes: Glenn, Daryl
probably yes, let's talk: Other adult survivors, crosscanon, late-series Negan
no: A Negan who hasn't had to eat absolute shit for multiple seasons first
